Cream of Tomato Soup

Serves: 6

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs fresh ripe tomatoes
  • 2 Tbl chopped onion
  • 1 Tbl sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp pepper
  • 1/8 tsp cloves
  • 1/4 C butter
  • 1 qt milk

Directions

  1. Peel and chop tomatoes
  2. Simmer tomatoes, onion, sugar, salt, pepper & cloves for 10min
  3. Melt butter in a large saucepan & blend in flour
  4. Add milk and cook over medium heat until thickened
  5. Add tomatoes to milk mixture, stirring constantly

Notes

The recipe says “do not reheat”, but i’m not sure what that’s all about
